On October 23, 2024, in Wrocław, we met with a designers from IDOM Consulting, Engineering, Architecture at a training to explore the topic of designing heating networks using Radpol Pipes products. During intensive workshops, we provided both theoretical and practical knowledge, allowing participants to understand the complexity of designing such installations and the specificity of Radpol Pipes technology.

The training began with a basic analysis of the elements that make up pre-insulated heating networks, presenting the production technology, diffusion barrier, and the process of radiation cross-linking of heat-shrinkable joints. These introductions provided a solid basis for the main topic of the meeting – the design of heating networks.

Participants had the opportunity to follow the details of the operation of heating pipelines placed in the ground and find out what stresses act on them both from the inside and outside. We dealt with methods of compensating for thermal expansions and ways of reducing stresses to ensure the longevity and reliability of the network.

Using real examples, we discussed the best practices for designing heating networks and connections – the location of branches, selection of compensating pillows and situations that should be avoided to ensure proper operation of the entire system. We also discussed the details of installing pipes using pre-insulated technology, emphasizing how crucial it is to avoid installation errors.

An important point of the program were static calculations performed in the SIS KMR program, which we offer to our partners. For the purposes of the training, we performed an example analysis for a network designed by the IDOM design office, thanks to which participants could see how to “quickly” adapt the project to the static requirements, which allows for the immediate implementation of specific solutions.

What brought us the greatest satisfaction was the participants’ activity – they asked questions, which allowed us to dispel doubts and discuss difficult cases on an ongoing basis. This interactive approach not only enriched the training, but also provided space for the exchange of experiences and practical analysis.
