Optimised structural design – Three-layer barrier technology.

The EVOprotect® system effectively prevents degradation of the polyurethane (PUR) foam and inhibits corrosion of the steel carrier pipe.

  • Jacket outer layer

    Works as mechanical protection of pre-insulated pipe, is made of modified HDPE.

  • Jacket middle layer

    Acts as diffusion barrier, produced of EVOH. Placing diffusion barrier inside the casing pipe minimizes the risk of its damage.

  • Internal layer

    The protection for the middle antidiffusion layer, is made
    of modified HDPE with a crowned surface at the junction of PUR foam. The corona treatment proces applied to the surface improves the adhesion between the jacket equipped in the barrier and PUR foam.

  • PUR foam

    The foam in the RADPOL PIPES pipes is frothed up by the use
    of blowing agent, named cyclopentane. This agent applicated in the form of gas is environmentally friendly.

The strategic placement of the EVOH layer between two HDPE layers ensures that the barrier remains protected from mechanical damage and moisture exposure during both installation and the entire lifecycle of the pipeline system.

The EVOprotect® system contributes to long-term environmental efficiency by reducing the carbon footprint, as improved thermal performance limits the need for heat overproduction and lowers greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, the use of blowing agents that do not affect the ozone layer ensures that PUR foam is produced with cyclopentane, a climate-friendly agent. The system also helps minimize waste generation, since its durable construction and material stability reduce the frequency of heat network component replacement and the amount of waste requiring disposal.
